Kit Book is a personal gear catalogue app. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights as a user. We are based in Lithuania (EU) and subject to GDPR.
Data controller: Kit Book, Lithuania. Contact: [email protected]
Gear catalogue data - item details (brand, model, weight, specs, ratings, notes, pricing) and trip data you enter into the app. Stored locally on your device and, if you have an account, synced to Supabase (PostgreSQL database hosted in the EU). This is the core purpose of the app.
Photos - gear photos you upload are stored locally on your device. Pro subscribers also have photos backed up to Cloudflare R2 (object storage), linked to your account. Photos are never shared publicly.
Account information - if you sign in, we store your email address and a user ID via Supabase Auth. We support Sign in with Apple and Sign in with Google. We never see your Apple or Google password.
Subscription data - if you subscribe to Kit Book Pro on iOS or Android, subscription status is managed by RevenueCat and synced to your account. RevenueCat may collect device identifiers and purchase history as necessary to process your subscription. See RevenueCat's Privacy Policy.
Community gear contributions - when you save an item with a brand, model, and weight, the basic specs (brand, model, type, weight, specs, product link) are contributed anonymously to a shared community database that helps other users auto-fill gear details. No personal information is included.
AI auto-fill (Pro only) - when you use the AI gear lookup feature, the brand and model you enter are sent to Serper.dev (a Google search API) and Anthropic's Claude API to retrieve gear specifications. No personal information is sent. See Serper's Privacy Policy and Anthropic's Privacy Policy.
Your data is stored primarily on your own device (localStorage and IndexedDB). When synced, gear data is stored in Supabase's EU-region PostgreSQL database. Images for Pro users are stored in Cloudflare R2. Both services use encryption at rest and in transit.
As an EU resident, you have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data at any time.
Your data is retained as long as your account exists. If you delete your account, all data is permanently removed from our systems within 30 days. Free tier users who have never created an account have no data stored on our servers - everything stays on their device.
Kit Book is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
If we make material changes to this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
